Local Offers
Local Offers are services specifically tailored to meet the needs of Tenants, which go beyond the National Standards expected by the Tenant Services Authority.
Tenant involvement is at the heart of everything we do and our Tenant Panels have been the driving force in the development of Bernicia’s Local Offers. The Panels have been involved from the outset and worked tirelessly to understand the requirements of the Tenant Services Authority, scrutinise our performance against these, and identify appropriate Local Offers to meet tenants’ expectations.
Local offers can be approached and developed in different ways for example;
- Demographic - Services for a particular client group, i.e. older people, or people with special needs.
- Place - Services for a particular location; a town, estate, or neighbourhood.
- Organisation - local offers identified by an organisation for their own stock only regardless of location.
Having reviewed the merits of each the Panel agreed our initial approach should be Organisational - therefore a ‘Bernicia Offer’ based on the standard and nature of services we provide to all tenants.
Operating as Bernicia the Panel firmly believes in our commitment to create an offer that delivers the most in terms of improvements to the homes and services we offer.
We have developed a Local Offers Compact which details our first Local Offers and introduces our new Tenant Scrutiny Structure, designed to enhance tenant involvement in scrutiny and decision making processes.
