Wansbeck Homes became fully operational on 25 February 2008 following the Large Scale Voluntary Transfer of housing formerly owned by Wansbeck District Council. Wansbeck Homes' primary focus is to deliver the promises made to tenants in the transfer proposal.

Together with Cheviot Homes, Wansbeck Homes became part of the Bernicia Group.

Wansbeck Homes owns and manages about 5,300 properties in and around the main townships of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, Ashington and Bedlington. We have a range of different types of homes located in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, North Seaton, North Seaton Colliery, Ashington, Stakeford, East Sleekburn, Cambois, Guide Post, Choppington, Bedlington Station and Bedlington.

We employ approximately 200 staff to manage and maintain homes, and in partnership with external contractors, are undertaking an ambitious 5 year investment programme that will see £65 million being spent to bring homes up to modern standards. A further £15 million will be spent repairing and maintaining homes.
