


Since the Social Inclusion team was formed, it has provided a number of activities for our tenants. Some are quite simple yet valuable, providing just hand-holding exercises and guiding people in the right direction. Some are more complex and require time from officers and other activities are imaginative and useful, providing social activities for residents.
As research suggests that the 16-25 year age group are at greater risk of losing their tenancy through a lack of financial capability skills The Fired Up project provides financial and money management skills.
The Social Inclusion team has also managed to deliver an activity specifically for young people at risk of offending. The Hanging Basket Project, encourages young people to grow plants in an allotment already established in East Ashington and will place these plants into hanging baskets and to distribute to older persons properties in the area.
